Coats for kids - Organize a coat drive Welcome Table is a local nonprofit It serves low-income residents of East Austin, by providing help with food, utilities, and diapers. They need volunteers to deliver diapers. One afternoon of delivering diapers earns 3 documented hours of service work.
Here is a description of volunteer diaper delivery: Our contact-free delivery program serves the in need community of East Austin by providing baby diapers, wipes, adult diapers, incontinence pads, period products and bed pads. We are looking for volunteers that can deliver diaper orders on Friday afternoons. This is a low risk opportunity as the deliveries are meant to be contact-free. Please use this link to sign up for upcoming volunteer opportunities: http://tiny.cc/sjec Information about the volunteering opportunity: - Deliveries take place in the East Austin community and surrounding areas, on Friday afternoons. Most of the people we serve live well below the poverty level. - We have established a delivery window of 3pm to 6pm, however orders need to be picked up at 3:00 pm from St. James Episcopal Church. Drivers should expect to be on the road for at least 2 hours. We do our best to optimize driving routes, however there will be times that we ask drivers to drive more than 15 miles. Also, volunteers must understand that traffic in Austin is unpredictable, therefore there might be some delays. - New volunteers need to attend the orientation session before being scheduled for deliveries, we must also have received a photo of their driver's license and valid car insurance card. For liability purposes, we need the last 4 digits of their social security number to verify that their insurance policy is active. - Volunteers will receive an email confirming their serving shift by Thursday (Night before the serving date) from [email protected]. |
