We are excited to announce the launch of the AGS Community Partners campaign. 

Dear Parents and Friends of Austin High Global Studies,

We are excited to announce the 2023 launch of the AGS Community Partners campaign, now in its eighth year. In past years, AGS Community Partners has provided an opportunity for individuals and local businesses to support the Academy for Global Studies (AGS) program by providing funds for travel scholarships for our curriculum-based learning expeditions. We are thrilled to continue to offer travel opportunities to the students in the AGS program. This year, we are continuing to  blaze ahead with organizing travel and other educational experiences, and teachers are hard at work planning the traditional AGS trips.

--> A Thailand trip is being planned for our class of 2025, and the Class of 2024 will travel to Thailand in January of 2024 for a nine-day expedition.  The cost of the 2024 Thailand expedition is approximately $3500 (prices can increase after certain deadlines).

--> The current AGS Sophomores will travel to Costa Rica from February 4th to10th. The approximate cost for one student is $2,000.

--> The AGS Freshman teaching team is designing a hunger/poverty simulation using curriculum from Heifer International that connects with our unit of study about world resources. The new experience is called Camp Global and students will travel to a camp in Texas to experience the simulation as well as team-building activities. The approximate cost for one student is 600-$750.

We need your help in supporting the students this year! Last year, with your incredible generosity, we were able to raise more than $54,000 for scholarships to ensure that all AGS students could take part in the incredible AGS travel curriculum. We cannot thank you enough for your continued generosity as we plan to continue traveling and to support the scholarship needs of even more AGS students.

With overwhelming gratitude, this year AGS Community Partners seeks to raise $50,000 to support travel and curriculum-based experiences in the Academy of Global Studies. Much like how AGS reaches beyond the Austin High community to spread global awareness, we are reaching out to individual and corporate sponsors like you to help us ensure equal opportunity for all of our students. Help us live out our goal: We all travel, or we don't travel at all.
