Camp Global Learning Expedition Details:
OVERVIEW: As a culminating experience for the fall unit on food deserts/distribution of resources/and food pantry projects, 9th grade students will engage in a Food Desert simulation this year! Using curriculum based on Heifer, International’s model, our AGS teaching team is bringing the "global village" a bit closer to home to ensure that all students can participate. In the Global Village, students will experience food scarcity, bartering and trade, and some of the challenges of global hunger and poverty. Students will come out energized and determined to be part of a solution. In addition to the Global Village experience, Camp Global will include teambuiding games and moments to bond with new friends at Austin High School.
